Serve the Body

We want all newcomers to relax and enjoy our services at River Rock Bible Church. After a while, you might become curious about service opportunities too. At River Rock Bible Church, we believe strongly in the benefits of service. Jesus said, He did not come to be served, but to serve" (Matthew 20:28). Service is a great way to find joy and grow relationships within a church. When we serve, it helps show the world Jesus.

Service Opportunities

There are currently four Children's Ministry classrooms: Nursery/Toddler, PreK, K-2nd, and 3rd-5th. Within the classrooms, team members help lead Bible stories, discussion questions, games, and more! We also have a Children's Check-In team who helps welcome families and get kids checked on Sunday mornings.
On the youth team, we seek to provide a safe, relational environment for our students to grow in relationship with God as well as in relationship with one another. We meet every Thursday at Hill Country Bible Church in Georgetown from 6:30-9:00 pm for Youth group as well as hold Youth service at church on Sundays. Our leaders have the opportunity to build relationships with the students as well as other leaders in order to foster the disciple-making culture that we model at our church.
If you like working with computers and audiovisual equipment, the RRBC's A/ would be a great place to serve. This team prepares the lighting and visuals that guide the presentation of worship song lyrics, announcements, and sermon notes during Sunday services. By joining this team, you will be trained to build out slides on ProPresenter, a PowerPoint-like program made for churches, set up our theater lighting system, and "run the show" on Sunday mornings.
The setup team is responsible for having everything outside of the main auditorium ready for the other teams and the preservice visitation. We make the coffee, prepare the children's rooms and put up all signage and the connection table. After the service, we tear it all down, clean it when needed, and store it back in our closet. Thanks to the willingness of the other teams to clean up their own areas, teardown can often be completed before the lobby fills up with theater patrons.
The Usher is responsible for filling communion trays and gathering their team for passing the trays. They are also responsible for getting the connection cards and pens in the basket and placing it at the landing. They are there to great people as they enter the sanctuary, make sure they have a pen or connection card and help them find a seat, if needed.
Greeting looks like showing up at 9:30 two Sundays each month and either holding the door to greet everyone or standing out front further and handing everyone a connection card while greeting them. Then at 10:15 we all head into service.
The Connection Table is a place where people can find out about the different service areas, purchase merchandise or get more information on River Rock and ways to get involved or connected.
The Web-Development Team is responsible for maintaining and updating the church website you see here. This includes maintaining the code, the design, and the content of the site, as needed. This team also has a broader goal of equiping other churches and Christ-centered organizations to further advance the Gospel through a common platform, which will be called The Humble Platform.
