Charlie was born and raised in Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree from University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where he met his wife, Amanda. Charlie went on to earn a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. While serving at a church in the Dallas area, Charlie and Amanda felt God calling them to plant a church in the Austin area. They quickly fell in love with Georgetown and made it their home.
Charlie and Amanda have five-year-old triplets, daughter Charley and sons Malachi and Bear, and a two-year-old daughter Evie. In addition to spending time with his wife and kids, Charlie enjoys hunting, running, baseball, football, and playing guitar. Charlie and Amanda’s desire is to help people experience life in Jesus by living out and proclaiming the Gospel.
Welcome to church planting! River Rock is a plant of Hill Country Bible Church in Cedar Park. We meet at Georgetown Charter Academy at 302 Serenada Drive. That’s right, we use the school as a meeting place each week. One of the strengths of this model is that we are able to really cast the vision that the building is not the church, our people are! We want our “church” to tangibly exist in our jobs, schools, neighborhoods and hobbies through our people and the relationships they naturally form.
Our Sunday service begins promptly at 10:02 am and will usually run until around 11:15 am. Try to arrive around 9:45 am in order to give you time to visit a minute or two as you grab some coffee.
There is guest parking up front by the entrance where you’ll be greeted by our volunteers. Our regular attenders park further away in the parking lot in order to reserve a spot for our guests!
We are a casual, come as you are gathering. No need for a suit and tie here - blue jeans and tennis shoes are pretty standard.
There is a children’s check-in table directly opposite the main room entrance. It is staffed by volunteers to answer all your Kid’s Church questions. We have a wonderful crew of volunteers lined up to serve you and teach your children from God’s word. Classes are available for 0-4, K-2nd grade & 3rd – 5th grade.
We have wonderful community groups which meet periodically throughout the week in our member’s homes. We believe strongly in these and will be glad to help connect you there.
Sundays at 10am
Our children’s program is comprehensive, from nursery through grade school. All our children’s staff and volunteers have completed background checks. Each class has a lesson specifically designed each week for your children and follow-up information as well to help you lead your children throughout the week.
Sundays at 7pm
Our middle and high school youth join with the adults on Sunday mornings and have their own program on Sunday evenings. Each youth service has fun activities and lessons designed specifically with teenagers in mind.
Throughout the Week
Our community groups meet each week in locations around Georgetown. These home-based gatherings are sure to be a blessing to you, as well as connect you with others from River Rock. They are also the teams which reach out for service projects in our community.
Have questions or want to talk with someone at River Rock Bible Church? We would love to hear from you!
